Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that dates back thousands of years.
It involves the insertion of small, sterile needles into the fascia of the body. The needles are placed into specific locations on different meridians (or energy channels) within the body.
Each location can have a different effect physiologically and psychologically on the body.
Acupuncture works by affecting the flow of “Qi” (pronounced “Chi”) in the body. Qi is referred to as the vital energy or life force that drives everything in the body and life. When this Qi becomes blocked it can cause pain and disharmony in the body.
Acupuncture works as little traffic crews to unblock the flow of traffic (aka Qi) therefore releasing pain and bringing the body back to balance to heal itself.
