Life behind anxiety

Is it just me or is anxiety becoming a more prevalent issue? Is it that this generation is mostly online and feel comfortable behind a screen, yet when we get out in public we freak because we aren't in control of what others might think? Is it that we are terrified of what others may think of us? And it's easy to say "oh, no-one is looking" or "no-one cares anyway" but in the moment it literally feels like all eyes are on you and pointing out all those little insecurities we have.
I don't know about you, but i experience this daily, whether it is going to work or going to check the mail outside. It is terrifying but feels oh so real. That feeling when you just want to hide away from the world and never leave the house. What a way to live, am i right?
Or is it that we feel we have to live up to the expectations we portray on our Insta feed or on Facebook?
Let's not blame it all on social media though. Does eating non-organic foods affect our anxiety and mood? Something to consider...
One thing that helps me, is to remember that truly, no body cares what you look like. Think about it... do you care about what people look like or do you care more about whether they are a kind, genuine person? Honestly, someone can be a beautiful supermodel yet not be a very nice person at all... I don't know about you, but I take soul over looks any day. So try and remember this when it feels as if the world is eyeballing you, pointing out that pimple on your chin or your choice of outfit.
Either way, I believe that when we can truly love and accept ourselves, we can conquer this fear (at leat a little) once and for all.
